Last Week of our SEASON 2026 Info

Happy Friday Sea Raiders!

This email contains some important information so please read thoroughly.

GENERAL INFO

Thank you to those of you letting us know if your kiddo is ill. We appreciate you keeping them home so they can repair for Champs and keep the germs at bay.

Please remember that meets are an incredible opportunity to share with your swimmers. Cheering them on and praising their growth is a memorable experience. Please know that dropping off your swimmer is not something we promote. We want everyone to cheer on our Sea Raiders! Thank you!

PSYCH PARTY BREAKFAST

This coming Friday, 7/31 we will gather at practice, for those WHO WILL BE ATTENDING CHAMPS, for a bagel breakfast and poster making! The sign up is now open- please RSVP and if you can contribute with a food item, please do so. PLEASE PLAN TO BRING YOUR OWN DRINK on this day!

CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!

We want to thank everyone who is attending championships. This is our biggest culminating meet and so much fun for our swimmers! Championships are a DUSO tradition and we are so happy to have you all swim and cheer together!

As always there will be a team parade and the theme “The Solar System” and we are MARS! Swimmers may choose to plan their own fun MARS themed attire. Lots of dressing up on this day. (There is a need to prevent litter around the pool so please be mindful of that.) Coach Mary (of course) has some fun stuff up her sleeve!

What to expect: It will be a long day. The entire Red Hook Team will be under one tent, mini pop up tents are not allowed. Parents and swimmers should bring the following items in addition to their regular swim gear:

  • camp chair(s)
  • blankets/sleeping bags
  • cards, Legos, crafts, etc. (things to do between races)
  • coolers (LOTS of water, drinks, snacks, sandwiches, etc.)
  • sunscreen
  • hand sanitizer/wipes
  • hoodies and sweatpants for the chilly morning
  • multiple towels
  • Items to keep kiddos happy and in between races in the tent (legos, books, etc.)

Please note: the ants are very prevalent at this location. It’s recommended to keep food sealed and away, unless consuming. Hanging your swim bags on the back of the chairs will also help!

Also- THE PLAYGROUND WILL BE CLOSED OFF to everyone.

Schedule & Things to Know:

Parking/Drop-off - The parking lot will open at 6:00am. The drop off area is located at the main entrance of the pool. There will be designated parking for officials, board members and coaches (Please display your parking pass.) If you have any special circumstances for parking, please let us know. Parking attendants will be present to assist. Carpooling is encouraged!

  • Parking lot opens at 6:00am
  • Warm-ups begin at 7:00am.
  • Red Hook will be warming up from 7:40 - 8:20
  • Parade - 8:30am
  • First Event - 9:00am
  • Bathrooms – The County has asked that we limit the use of the bathrooms at the pool facility and utilize port-a-potties as we have in the past. There will be hand sanitizer outside of the port-a-potties and teams are welcome to bring some of their own to keep at your tent. We will provide bathroom passes for those that are volunteering, and for handicap use. Swimmers will NOT be able to use the bathrooms.

Volunteers - JOB SIGN UPS NOW OPEN! Each volunteer will get a printed label to be worn when on deck. This will help officials to be clear with who should be on deck for the safety of our swimmers. This label can also be used as their bathroom pass during the meet.

Officials- Jason Young has sign ups with you in a separate email for Champs!

Apparel Sales – A representative from The Deep End or Hobie Swim may be located under the pavilion. (We have not gotten confirmation on this yet.)

Concessions- Food and Beverages will be available through County Pool Concessions. They have run out of food in the past as an FYI. We have also arranged for a few food trucks to be present (thank you Sarah Kovacs!).

Championship races will be using a touch pad, as well as two timers. Swimmers will be seeded slowest to fastest. We will be using 5 lanes.

There are NO TECH SUITS allowed in DUSO Meets.

Some of us will be in New Paltz on Thursday picking up parking passes for our coaches, officials and board members. We will also be obtaining the bathroom passes for those signed up to volunteer. DUSO reps will be handing out bathroom passes Saturday morning. Volunteers should check in with us.

Ulster County Pool Complex.  The address is 241 Libertyville Rd, New Paltz, NY 12561.

    AFTER CHAMPS!

On Sunday 8/2, we will gather to celebrate our season and ALL SWIMMERS and family members are welcome to join! We will have pizza and cake. Please RSVP in the sign up as soon as possible so we can order the appropriate amount of food. We will ask you to please bring your own drink, again. Swimmers can pick up Championship awards as well at this evening event.

    Thanks,

    Coach Mary and Erin Daniels
