Mary Herron Group 4 & Head Coach

Coach Mary- Head Coach and Group 4 Coach Coach Mary swam competitively for 12 years. She swam for the Rhinebeck Manta Rays in the summer and NDAC year round. Her favorite stroke was breaststroke because it was an event not a lot of swimmer competed in. Before a race Coach Mary would listen to upbeat music. When she’s not dreaming of swimming you can bet she’s snuggled up on the couch watching her favorite movie “The Sandlot” or having a dance party to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody!” Coach Mary’s favorite memory was during Rhinebeck Relays when all of the teams would dress up in silly costumes and race! Her future plans are to WIN DUSOs with her AMAZING Sea Raiders!

    Brooke Pociask Group 3 Coach

Guess who’s BACK?! Our brilliant Brooke is back and ready for the 2024 season! Brooke is ready to see her Group 3 swimmers for another amazing season! Coach Brooke has been swimming for 12 years! She started out as a Rhinebeck Manta Ray and became a Red Hook Sea Raider when she started coaching with Kevin Storrs ❤️. She was varsity swimmer for the Rhinebeck Hawks, a year round swimmer with NDAC and now swims for Siena College. Let’s just say- Brooke was born to swim! You can catch her in the pool swimming her favorite stroke, backstroke! She loves backstroke because you can breathe the entire race (except during those flip turns)! Before a race Coach Brooke stretches to keep her muscles 💪 warm and loose while she’s talking with her teammates. Her favorite swim memory is the NDAC overnight; playing manhunt, late night swimming, staying awake listening to Coach Storrs tell scary stories only to get everyone up for a 6am practice. When she’s not around the pool, you can find Coach Brooke listening to Zach Brown Band or watching “27 Dresses” while eating a bowl of pasta!

    Owen Daniels Group 2 Coach

Brand new to the Sea Raiders coaching staff is the outstanding Owen Daniels! Coach Owen will be leading Group 2 to victory this summer. Although he’s new to coaching, you have seen Coach Owen lighting up the Red Hook Pool since he was an 8&under. He holds multiple team AND pool records; check out the record board in the pool house this summer! Coach Owen swims for the Sea Raiders, year round with NDAC and is a Varsity swimmer for Red Hook High School. During his 12 years of swimming he has come to love backstroke because you don’t have to worry about taking a breath. You can catch him racing up and down the pool while flashing a smile at his fellow competitors. Last summer Coach Owen set out with a goal and worked hard all season. Before his big race, Coach Owen stretched to keep his muscles loose and took deep breaths before entering the water. When the final race started he raced down the pool, looked up at the clock and SMILED because he realized he had crushed his goal! 💪🎊 When he’s not setting records in the water, Coach Owen likes to relax with a plate of empanadas while watching “Toy Story” or listening to Upside Down by Jack Johnson. He would like to swim in college while studying to become an occupational therapist.

    Kyle Knuschke Group 1 & Pre-Team Coach

We would like to welcome to the Sea Raiders coaching staff charismatic Kylee Knuschke! Coach Kylee will be coaching our Group 1 and Pre-Team Sea Raiders! You may recognize Kylee as our graduating 2023 Senior girl! We are so excited she is back on the pool deck in a COACHES shirt! Coach Kylee swam for 14 years and raced down the lane for Lake Norman, Sea Raiders and NDAC. You may have mistaken her for a butterfly 🦋 last summer as she flew down the pool racing her favorite stroke! Butterfly is one of the most challenging strokes, but Coach Kylee doesn’t back down from a challenge. Her favorite swim memory was when she won the 50 fly at DUSO champs! 💪🏅Fast paced music helped Kylee keep the beat while she was swimming down the lane during her race. When she’s resting from all of that butterfly, you can find Coach Kylee eating sushi while watching “Interstellar” or listening to her favorite song “Try and Love Again” by the Eagles. She continues her college studies next fall and hopes to do something in public health or the medical field along with traveling throughout Europe. We have a feeling there’s going to be a bunch of beautiful Group 1 butterflies 🦋

She has been swimming for 10 years as a Sea Raider and was a part of the NDAC year round team. Coach Molly loves speed and therefore LOVES freestyle. Before she speeds down the pool, Coach Molly will talk to her teammates and envision her race. It’s the mental preparation that helps her be a top competitor! One of her favorite swim memories was participating in the Medley Relay with older swimmers and of course the late night manhunt games at swim team gatherings. When she’s not at the pool, Coach Molly is listening to the new Billie Eilish album while enjoying a tuna sandwich and bowl of tomato soup from Panera. On a rainy day you can find her watching the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings movies. She hopes to major in creative writing and biology in college while playing D3 soccer.
