🏊 Who can join the Sea Raiders?
The program is open to swimmers of all skill levels. Whether your swimmer is new to summer swim or returning to compete and improve, there’s a place for them on the team.
For NEW swimmers ages 8&under there will be a TRY OUT in early June. Swimmers MUST be able to complete one FULL lap unassisted. Swimmers who join our Pre-Team program (4-6 years old) will be informed by coaches about swim meet participation.
🏁 Are swim meets required?
Yes. Due to significant team growth and crowded practice lanes, swimmers registered for the program are expected to attend a minimum of three (3) swim meets during the season.
❓ Why is meet participation required?
Swim meets are an important part of the program. They:
- Reinforce skills learned at practice
- Help balance practice groups
- Build confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Support a positive experience for all swimmers as the team continues to grow
Summer swim is meant to be fun—but it’s also about learning how to compete and support teammates.
🏅 What if my swimmer is nervous about competing?
That’s totally normal! Meets are designed to be encouraging and age-appropriate. Coaches and teammates are there to support swimmers, and participation often helps build confidence quickly.
☀️ Is the program still fun-focused?
Absolutely! Along with training and competition, summer swim is about fun in the sun, friendships, and team spirit. We simply ask swimmers to participate in both practice and meets to get the full experience.
📣 Where can I find updates and announcements?
All updates—including schedules, meet details, and reminders—will be shared through rhsr.swimtopia.com and team communications.
