Good Morning Sea Raiders!

 Our first full week of Sea Raiders is complete and we are so excited to announce we WON our first away and home meet. We are so proud of the hard work our swimmers have been putting in at practice and amazing efforts during every race. It has been amazing to watch so many swimmers complete their very first race and a majority of our swimmers receive BEST times! 

  A special THANK YOU to all of the parents, family members and friends who have stepped up to help during practices and swim meets. As you can see, it takes a lot to run a team and you all make it look easy! 

Announcements for the week of 7/8:

1. Swim Meets:

July 10th: HOME vs Rosendale: Warm-Ups 4pm Meet start 5pm

Please declare your swimmer by 9am MONDAY morning. Coaches will be placing the meet after practice tomorrow to send over to Rosendale so they can merge the meet.

Last summer Rosendale won by 40 points and this summer the Sea Raiders want a victory, but we need EVERY swimmer to sign-up! There's a rumor going around Coach Mary will canon ball off the diving board if the Sea Raiders WIN!

July 13th: AWAY vs Hurley: 50 Dewitt Mills Road, Hurley 8AM warm-ups 9AM start

Please declare your swimmer by 9am Thursday. Hurley has a growing team and are very competitive- we need as many swimmers as possible to sign up for this meet!

Wednesday, July 24th: HOME vs New Paltz 

The MOST anticipate meet of the season! New Paltz has been undefeated for many years due to their vast numbers of swimmers, but RH has grown to a team with over 100 swimmers! This could be the summer RH defeats the dynasty, but we need ALL 108 swimmers present. The coaches have already started to strategize how to place the meet in hopes of a victory. Let's "Paint the Town Red" Sea Raiders and let DUSO know we have arrived!

2. Swim Clinics: Monday Evenings 7-8pm RH Pool

We would like to invite Group 2&3 to participate in clinics which focus on ONE stroke at a time. Monday 7/8 we focus on backstroke. Please arrive by 6:45 for stretches. This is ONLY for Coach Brooke and Coach Owen's Groups.

3. 2024 Macarena Cap Challenge

Each group will be participating in the challenge and we will have a vote the last week of the season for the Most Creative Group. The winning group will be awarded the Cap Challenge Trophy at Award Night on July 28th.

Send your swimmers to practice with silly gear, bright t-shirts, sunglasses. Below is the schedule for "filming;" if you would not like your child in the video please let your child's coach know and we can crop them out.

Group 4: Tuesday, July 9th

Group 3: Thursday, July 11th

If your swimmer cannot be at this practice, but would still like to be part of the challenge email us a video and we will add it to the group video!

4. ZOOM FLUME: Thursday, July 18th 10am-4pm

The most anticipated day of the summer- Team Zoom Flume day! We invite all Sea Raiders and family members to join the coaches for a fun day at Zoom Flume water park in the Catskills. More details to come! We will have car pooling available for swimmers who need a ride to and from the park.
